Roger Dean Johnson

Roger Dean Johnson, 66, Bidwell, Ohio, passed away Monday, August 21, 2023 at Riverside Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. He was born in Gallipolis, Ohio September 2, 1956 to the late Edsel and Betty (Criner) Johnson.

Roger attended Southwestern High School, Patriot, Ohio. He worked at M.T. Epling, Cherrington Scrap Metal, Biding Pallett Shop and A Team Transmissions. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing and he always loved a good joke.

Roger is survived by his wife, Wanda Johnson, Bidwell, Ohio and children: Jeremy (Hilary) Johnson, Pleasantville, Ohio; Tiffany (J.D.) Nelson, Bidwell, Ohio; Carey (Tommy) Moomey, Orient, Ohio; Brittany (Rick Wilkinson) Elliott, Marion, Ohio and Wendy Gratz, Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren: Brooke, Bryce, Bryleigh and Bayleigh Johnson, Carson Matney, Cole Nelson, Sara (Kyle Patridge) Moomey, Amiley and Dean McMahon; brother, Bobby Johnson, Oak Hill, Ohio; sisters, Donna Smith and Linda Brown, both of Oak Hill, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

In addition to his parents Roger was preceded in death by his grandson, Austin Gage Elliott; brother, Gary Lee Johnson and mother-in-law, Eula Dummitt.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, August 25, 2023 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel. Burial will follow at C M Cemetery, Oak Hill, Ohio. Family and friends can call on the family beginning at 11:00 AM till the time of service at the funeral home.
