Thomas Joseph Dotson

Thomas Joseph Dotson, Sr., 80, Bidwell, Ohio passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. He was born in Bidwell, Ohio December 14, 1942 to the late Dixie and Geraldine Borden Dotson. Thomas was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Bidwell, Ohio and a United States Army Veteran. 

Thomas is survived by his sons, Thomas Dotson, Jr. and Tyrone Dotson and daughter, Hyleah Dotson, all of Flint, Michigan; granddaughter, Nizyree Dotson; brother, Stanley Mayo, Flint, Michigan; sisters: Alice Garnes, Gallipolis, Ohio; Cecellia McNeal, Flint, Michigan and Gloria (Henry) Willis, Columbus, Ohio and special friends, Charles Peck and Anthony Birchfield, both of Bidwell, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Andrew “Junior” Dotson and sisters: Regina Neal, Pauline Parks, Evelyn Milton, Mary Howell and Debra Dotson.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Friday, March 24, 2023 at the Mt. Carmel Church, Bidwell, Ohio with Reverend Marlin Griffin and Reverend Dr. Gene Armstrong officiating. Full Military Graveside Rites will be presented by Gallia County Veteran’s Detail in Pine Hill Cemetery, Bidwell, Ohio. Family and friends may call at the church Friday 11:00 AM to the Noon service time. The McCoy-Moore Funeral Home is honored to serve the Dotson Family.

Pallbearers will be Charles Peck, Jr., Jeremy Peck, Jim Gilmore, Joe Peck, Joseph Loyd, Jr. and Joe Loyd, III.  Honorary William Armstrong, Junior Johnson and Fred Howard.
