Ward Smith

Ward Smith, 76, Bidwell, Ohio passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia. He was born in Logan County, West Virginia April 26, 1943, son of the late Clyde and Verlie (Workman) Smith. Ward married Connie Cross August 8, 1970 and she survives. Ward was a 1961 graduate of North Gallia High School who retired from Frick & Gallagher Manufacturing of Wellston, where he was employed as a machinist and was a member of Vinton F & AM Lodge #131.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Connie Cross Smith; daughter, Misty (Heath) Denney, Bidwell, Ohio; his grandson, “Poppy’s Pal”, Gage Denney, Bidwell, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Linda (John) McMillin and Sandy Francies, both of Gallipolis, Ohio; nieces, Jody (Dale) Leeper, Ashland, Kentucky and Robin (John) Sayre, Florida and nephew, Brian Francies, Gallipolis, Ohio.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Ozie Smith and brother-in-law, Wayne Francies.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 19, 2019 at Denney Cemetery, Bidwell with Pastor Robert Scott officiating. The McCoy-Moore Funeral Home is honored to serve the Smith Family.
