Ethel was a very good friend to my late mother Geraldine. They talked daily even after my mom moved from Bidwell to Point Pleasant WVA. Praise God that they are together again catching up on all the news. So very sorry for your loss. John I. Jones

So sorry for your loss. We watched for the Christmas cards that always included a
short note about her family and happenings during the year. She mentioned how
glad she was to be home and have you taking such good care of her.

Carl, there are no words to make You and your family feel better. Your grief will lessen with time. How lucky you were to have had your mother for so many years. When I was growing up, Ethel was my "Aunt Ethel" when in actuality, she was a cousin. She always showed my family much kindness. We lived across the street from her parents. Big hugs. Donna Kay

A poem in memory of Ethel Dorlene DeWitt (1921-2016)

Peacefully
And gently
The rain came.
Softly
The breeze shifted,
And a weary oak
Fell.
Like a precious tree,
Nurtured with maturity and faithfulness,
Our friend's life quietly yielded
To the forces of nature.
Our thoughts, however
Wander, and
We envision a new beginning:
A tender, young sapling
Grows afresh in a land
Where harmony and love abide.
Its outstretched branches enhance
The beauty of Heaven's distant shore
Now and forevermore.

Aunt Ethel was a WONDERFUL woman that was always offering to lend a helping hand. She provided the upmost support during the loss of my mother and my young men's Nanna. I'm more that thankful for our short visit in the hospital this past Wednesday. GO FLY HIGH and enjoy your long awaited reunion with all the family and friends that are waiting. Peace, no more suffering, and happiness will only be experienced now and after.

Ethel was like a second Mom to many of us growing up in Bidwell. Always enjoyed our visits over the years and was so happy that she got to live a long healthy life up until she became ill and was just too tired to fight anymore. She can rest up now with a new life among her family/friends in Heaven. Bless her heart. I admired her and how she lived her life to the fullest. She was a wonderful friend whom I will miss until we meet again.
RIP Sweet Ethel......... Marlene
