William C. "Bud" Hawks

William C. “Bud” Hawks 77, Vinton, Ohio passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016 at his home following a battle with cancer. He was born May 22, 1938 in Big Four, West Virginia to the late Edgar Wise and Christine Ramey Hawks. He retired from Federal Mogul/Borg Warner after more than 25 years; he was a member of Ewington Church of Christ in Christian Union and a master woodworker. Bud was a loving husband, father, and papaw.

He married Ann Wolford September 14, 1959 in Vinton, Ohio and she survives along with their children:  William L. Hawks, Gallipolis, Ohio; Deana (Keith) Brown, Bidwell, Ohio; Bethanie (Andrew) Hawks Suter, Charlotte, North Carolina; Brian (Tina) Hawks, Waverly, Ohio and Brett Hawks, Waverly, Ohio; grandchildren:  Jessica, Courtney, Katlin, Demara, Nathan, Ryan, Caylie, Dakota, and Kearstyn; great-grandchildren:  Olivia, Raelynn, Connor, Bella, Brystol, Bentley, Hadley, and Harper; brothers, Randy (Belinda) Hawks, Vinton, Ohio; David (Linda) Hawks, Wiley, Texas and sisters:  Kay Ball, Parma, Michigan; Alieta (Richard) Marshall, Vinton, Ohio; Altina (Don) Gibson, Gallipolis, Ohio and Carol (Bob) Matthews, Concord, Michigan as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Christie Ann Hawks;  brother, Edgar Hawks and sister, Joan Neal.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at the Ewington Church of Christ in Christian Union with Pastor David Greer officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hawks Family Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Ewington Church Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
